Routine Eye Care

Routine eye exams are essential in protecting healthy eyes and maintaining optimal vision. Our comprehensive eye examination can help detect a variety of diseases and injuries, which, if treatable, can be controlled by one of our eye care professionals.

Your appointment will include time for a personal medical history and specialized tests as needed. Your eyes may be dilated, which allows the doctor to carefully examine the retina. It normally takes 20 - 30 minutes for your eyes to dilate. If your eyes are dilated, we recommend that you do not drive after your appointment. If you are unable to arrange for this, we will be glad to reschedule your dilated exam to a later date.

Routine exams are recommended every year for adults. For children, it is recommended that your child be examined at 6 months, 3 years, and just prior to starting school (around 5 years) and every year from then on.
